Brasov, Cancio lead in school board race
NORWALK — Dr. Robert Cancio and Narcis Brasov appear to have won seats on the Norwalk -La Mirada school board, according to semi-official results released by the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk.
Brasov, a law professor at Trinity Law School, collected 2,330 votes while Cancio, an assistant professor of sociology at Loyola Marymount University, received 2,259.
Election officials said there are “still many outstanding ballots to be processed and counted.” Brasov and Cancio, however, maintain comfortable leads over their opponents.
According to election officials, only 6% of registered voters cast ballots in the election.
