Norwalk to use $2.1M for water infrastructure and transit upgrades
NORWALK – Rep. Linda Sanchez delivered a $2.1 million check to the city of Norwalk last week, federal funding she secured for Norwalk and signed into law by President Joe Biden.
Norwalk will use $1.26 million to design and construct water facilities, including injection wells, recharge facilities, pipelines, reservoirs and treatment plants.
These projects will aim to extract, treat and distribute groundwater and imported supplies from the Central Groundwater Basin, enhancing water infrastructure within the city.
The remaining $850,000 will be used to enhance Norwalk Transit with shade, seating and solar-powered lighting.
The solar panels will provide ample lighting while real-time displays powered by these panels will provide accurate wait times for bus riders.
