Woman reported missing from unincorporated Whittier

Update: Authorities confirmed Jayleen Montrie was found safe. No further details were released.

WHITTIER — Authorities Thursday sought the public's help to find a woman who went missing from the Whittier area earlier this week.

Jayleen Jazmin Montrie, 19, was last seen on Monday near the 14000 block of Adger Drive, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Montrie is Hispanic, 5 feet, 3 inches tall, weighs 110 pounds, and has brown hair and eyes. She has what was described as a "poem tattoo" on her back, the sheriff's department reported. She was last seen wearing black leggings, a denim jacket and brown winter boots.

"Jayleen's family is concerned for her well-being as she suffers from a mental health disorder," a sheriff's department statement said.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts was urged to call the sheriff's Missing Persons Detail at 323-890-5500. Tipsters may also call 800- 222-TIPS or use the website lacrimestoppers.org.
