Former Cerritos College punter enjoys success in NFL
NORWALK — Former Cerritos College football player Corey Bojorquez played in the NFL playoff game with the Buffalo Bills last Saturday on Wild Card Weekend.
Bojorquez, a punter, has been with Bills for three years. He signed a free agent contract in 2018 with the New England Patriots but was picked up by the Bills in September of that year.
The former Mayfair High School player led the NFL in punting average for the 2020 season with 50.8 yards per punt.
While at Cerritos he led the nation for community colleges with a 43.8 average when he was a sophomore.
He finished his collegiate career at New Mexico and set records there also.
Bojorquez, who has a 45 yards-per-punt average in his three years in the NFL, will take on the Baltimore Ravens in an AFC Divisional game on Saturday.
