Norwalk Summer Concert Series begins June 13
NORWALK - Norwalk’s Summer Concert Series at the Lawn will return this year, inviting the community to come out and enjoy several evenings of live entertainment.
Residents can bring their families, lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic baskets to the Civic Center Lawn, located at 12700 Norwalk Blvd., and be serenaded under the stars by several performing acts of various genres and styles.
The concerts are free, beginning Wednesdays at 7p.m.. Refreshments will be available for purchase at each event.
The city is also looking for intermission acts to perform for the concert series.
Singing acts, dance groups, entertainment acts, and other performances will be considered.
Extraordinary acts will be picked to perform during intermission for each concert. At the end of the Summer Concert series, one act will be chosen as the “winning” act for the series and will win a prize. For more information on performing, please call 929-5521 for further details.

June 13
Scot Bruce (Elvis Tribute)
Originally from the Pacific Northwest, where he was a radio personality and a drummer, Scot has lived in Los Angeles since 1990. While pursuing music and acting as a career (and having been a musician and big Elvis fan all of his life), he started doing a 1950’s era Elvis show as a way to survive the lean times.
Because of his uncanny resemblance to the young “King” (and his ability to sing, strum a guitar, and swivel his hips), his live show has taken him across the U.S. and all over the world.

Mariachi Angeles De Pepe Martinez Jr.
For more than 30 years, Jose "Pepe" Martinez junior has lived on-stage inspired by the gift of music introduced to him as a young boy.

Prizmatic (Katy Perry / Pink Tribute)
Prizmatic is a live-band tribute to the music of pop-phenom Katy Perry, delivering all the hits that have made her a global sensation.
The cast of Prizmatic features a group of top-notch musicians who have taken the best of Katy Perry’s chart-topping hits and turned up the energy to 11 to give every show the feel of a live concert spectacle. In addition to their infectious musical groove, Prizmatic delivers a spot-on recreation of Katy Perry’s personality and outrageous over-the-top fashions that have made Katy’s arena events one of the hottest tickets to get.

Knyght Rider (Flash Back 80’s)
Knyght Rider is a kick-ass 80’s (and 90’s) tribute band from Southern California.
Their diverse influences include now classic-favorites such as AC/DC, Aerosmith, the Backstreet Boys, Blink-182, Britney Spears, David Bowie, Eminem, Metallica, Michael Jackson, Twisted Sister, U2, The Who, and 2Pac, just to name a few.
July 25
The Hodads (70’s Disco)
The Hodads are southern California’s most versatile theme party band.
Combining high energy music, stylish outfits, celebrity impersonation and audience participation since 1989, the band has appeared in concert with Kool & The Gang, The Beach Boys, Bob Dylan, Brian Setzer, The Smothers Brothers, Jan & Dean, Tony Danza, The Surfaris, Jim Belushi, Steve Vai, Bob Saget, Louie Anderson, Jerry Lewis, Casey Kasem, Vince Gill, Trisha Yearwood, Lily Tomlin, and played in the movie, "The Replacement" with Eric Roberts and Ice T.
This concert is sponsored by the Los Angeles County Arts Commission.

L.A.vation (U2 Tribute)
Based in Los Angeles, L.A.vation derives its name from the hit song "Elevation", the third single released from U2's 2000 album, All That You Can't Leave Behind.
The band has faithfully crafted an amazingly accurate show, incorporating memorable stage elements from past U2 concerts with "spot-on" musical execution, all the while emphasizing the pride and passion of the four lads from Dublin.
August 8
Soto Band (Latin R&B)
SOTO, a Latin American musical powerhouse is a self-contained group, which includes family members and founders Bruce & Artie Soto!
Based out of Norwalk, the brothers started their own dance band and would perform at school talent shows, school dances, fundraisers, weddings, night clubs and eventually made it to concert tours in which they have worked with groups such as Earth, Wind & Fire, Patty La Belle, Dion Warwick, James Brown, Poncho Sanchez, Tito Puente, Teena Marie, Whitney Houston, and Marc Anthony, and can be seen with Ricky Martin on his “One on One” Asia MTV special as his back-up band.
This concert will also coincide with National Night Out, an annual event intended to bring communities across America together to take a stand against crime, drugs and disorder in their neighborhoods.
