Chick-fil-A planning to hire up to 120 for Norwalk restaurant
NORWALK — Chick-fil-A has named Farid Khansarinia franchise owner of the chain’s Norwalk restaurant as the hiring of as many as 120 new team members is under way in preparation for the projected grand opening in late November.
When Norwalk’s stand-alone Chick-fil-A opens at 12555 Imperial Hwy., it will be the realization of a dream for long-time California resident Khansarinia who began looking for an entrepreneurial opportunity after more than 30 years in retail.
An ITT graduate, Khansarinia started in the trenches of retail and rose to be vice president of national retail sales for a major multinational consumer electronics brand.
Khansarinia, his wife Suki, and their five children already were Chick-fil-A fans when a friend suggested the franchise opportunity might line up with his desire to use the skills gained during his retail career to grow his own business and mentor young people. He connected with a local Chick-fil-A franchise owner and realized the role fit his entrepreneurial goal of owning a business where he could have a positive impact on his employees, customers and community.
He and his family are thrilled to bring Chick-fil-A to Norwalk and continue to serve the community that has been home to Khansarinia for more than 40 years.
Norwalk’s more than 4,500-square-foot Chick-fil-A restaurant will include an indoor children’s play area, dining room seating for 120 and patio seating for 12. The drive-thru features two ordering lanes merging into a single lane for pickup, enhancing the chain’s award winning drive-thru service.
The restaurant will be open Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m., offering a full breakfast menu until 10:30 a.m.
Khansariniahas begun hiring as many as 120 team members as he builds his Norwalk staff. He is filling full-time and part-time positions in all areas of the restaurant, including leadership development, hospitality, catering, training and marketing.
Each position will include benefits such as scholarships for continuing education. In addition, Chick-fil-A restaurant team members appreciate having Sundays off, flexible schedules, and the family atmosphere fostered at the restaurant.
Named one of the “best places to work” by Glassdoor, Chick-fil-A is known for hiring and retaining talent and offering a supportive workplace with opportunities for leadership development, respect for work-life balance and competitive wages.
Chick-fil-A Team Members are eligible for the chain’s initiative, Remarkable Futures, which provides $14.5 million in annual scholarships. Ranging from $2,500 to $25,000, the scholarships are based on leadership, community involvement and academic achievement.
Chick-fil-A, which employs more than 75,000 people through corporate positions and franchised locations, has provided almost $60.5 million to help pay for college since a formal scholarship program was initiated 45 years ago in 1973.
