Ramiro Garza Gallegos Jr.

Ramiro Garza Gallegos Jr., Born May 12, 1940, in Hamilton Township, Michigan. Son of Delfina Garza and Ramiro Gallegos. He was raised by his grandmother in San Antonio, Texas. He attended Lanier High School and Graduated in San Diego, California. Ramiro was the beloved husband and best friend to his loving wife Lucy Gallegos for 61 years. Both shared two son’s Ramiro and David Gallegos. He was a devoted grandfather to four and a great grandfather to six. Ramiro and his wife moved to Los Angeles, California. Shortly after they settled in Norwalk, California (1968), and are still there today. He worked for General Pipe and Supply in Compton for about 30 years. Ramiro became a model citizen in the city of Norwalk. He participated in the PTA, coached at The Norwalk Little League for 30 years, later becoming the President. He also served his parish and volunteered for the Church of Saint John of God for over 35 years. He and his wife received the Honorary Service Award in 1979, which is a PTA public acknowledgment for both individuals and organizations for outstanding community service to children and youth in a community. He was a mentor, life coach, and adoring role model to many young boys who had come from families in need of assistance. Ramiro continued to serve his community and be an upstanding citizen. He was truly a man of the people. He touched many lives and provided an immense amount of happiness to every single person he came across.
Ramiro Gallegos passed away on November 20, 2021, in his home in Norwalk, California. Although resilient, he was unable to withstand the fight with cancer. Despite the difficult battle, he never gave up hope and never stopped fighting until the very end. His family is eternally grateful for the amount of time, and memories that they were able to share with him. He left this world with a positive presence and he will dearly be missed.
Mass services will be on Friday December 17, 2021 at St. John of God Church in Norwalk starting at 10:00am. Burial services will immediately follow at Little Lake Cemetery.
