Gang member arrested on gun, narcotics charges

NORWALK — A suspect who deputies say is a gang member is in custody Wednesday after his arrest at a traffic stop in Norwalk.

Deputies from the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department's La Mirada Station stopped the suspect around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday on suspicion of committing several traffic violations. The driver, who deputies identified as a local gang member, was found to be in possession of narcotics and a loaded firearm, according to the Norwalk Sheriff's Station.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
