Raising Cane's to replace vacant CVS pharmacy

NORWALK — A former CVS pharmacy at Studebaker Road and Imperial Highway will be replaced by Raising Cane’s, pending approval by the planning commission Wednesday.

According to plans submitted to the city, Raising Cane’s wants to demolish the vacant CVS building and replace it with a 3,705 sq. ft. drive-through restaurant.

The restaurant will be surrounded by more than 19,000 sq. ft. of landscaping. Raising Cane’s will provide 41 parking spaces, although city code requires only 15.

The restaurant will have two drive-through lanes capable of accommodating up to 23 vehicles.

“The proposed project will enhance the surrounding area by revitalizing a vacant site and providing a local-serving commercial use compatible with the neighborhood,” community development director John Ramirez wrote in report to the planning commission.
