NORWALK - The Norwalk chamber of commerce and the city council welcomed a new Chick-fil-A location at 10710 Firestone Blvd. on Wednesday morning.

Chick-Fil-A owner Chris Schivley and his family expressed gratitude toward the city for adding a second location to the community. The first location is on the corner of Imperial Highway and Bloomfield Avenue.

State Senator Bob Archuleta and Assemblymember Blanca Pacheco released statements congratulating the owners for adding another location to the city.

Caren Spilsbury, The Norwalk Chamber of Commerce executive director, said the chamber was eager to continue working with the franchise after the success of the first location.

“People on that side of Norwalk will gravitate to that one, but the people on this side of Norwalk will usually go to Downey,” Spilsbury said. “We’d like to keep them in Norwalk, because we want to keep the business here to support Norwalk.”

City residents continue to advocate for more businesses within the city. Spilsbury said she wants to continue working and add more businesses within the Norwalk Entertainment District.

“Once they break ground on the location early next year, we can start outreach to secure businesses,” Spilsbury said.

The new Chick-fil-A is open from 6:30 a.m. - 11 p.m.
