Little Lake school board member Jasmine Sanchez sworn-in
SANTA FE SPRINGS – Newly-elected Little Lake City School District board member Jasmine Sanchez was sworn-in to office Dec. 13.
“I am thrilled to join the Little Lake City School District Board of Education and work alongside experienced colleagues, the Cabinet, and school leaders to bring our students the resources they need,” said Sanchez. “I am committed to this school community and look forward to serving them.”
Sanchez is a product of the Little Lake City School District having attended Lake Center Middle School and Santa Fe High School.
She continued her formal education and attended Rio Hondo College where she earned her Associate of Arts in General Education while working with the federal government and volunteering her time coaching soccer.
Later, she attended Cal State University of Dominguez Hills where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
Sanchez worked for the City of Santa Fe Springs as a recreation leader and was in charge of sports for children of all ages. She has also worked at the Gus Velasco Neighborhood Center working with older adults and at community events.
Sanchez is currently the head coach of the girls varsity soccer team at South East High School.
Also sworn-in was Hilda Zamora, who was re-elected to the school board.
“I am honored to have served as your board president and happy to continue serving our district, students, and families,” said Zamora. “I look forward to working with our current board members as we continue to drive our students towards academic success.”
The Little Lake School District encompasses parts of Norwalk, Santa Fe Springs and Downey.
