Ana Valencia elected Norwalk mayor

NORWALK – Ana Valencia is Norwalk’s new mayor. 

The City Council on Tuesday unanimously chose Valencia to be Norwalk mayor for 2023. Councilwoman Margarita Rios was selected as vice mayor.

Both will serve one-year terms.

Valencia was elected to the City Council in 2020 and became vice mayor last year. She previously served on the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District board of education. 

Rios joined the city council in 2017 and previously served as mayor in 2019. 

Like Valencia, Rios also previously served on the Norwalk-La Mirada board of education.
