Norwalk hosting Las Posadas festival this Saturday

NORWALK - Norwalk will mark the New Year with Las Posadas this Saturday, Jan. 4, a traditional cultural celebration.

The festive event will begin with a candlelit procession and caroling of holiday songs. Other highlights include cultural activities for children such as pinatas, and special performances by mariachis, including Norwalk’s own youth mariachi group, the Miniachis.

There will also be ballet folklorico and Aztec dancers, along with food including tamales, churros and champurrado.

The free event begins at 6 p.m. on the civic center lawn.
