NORWALK — Members of the public are encouraged to apply for vacancies on Cerritos College’s citizens bond oversight committee.

The committee is tasked with overseeing the expenditure of money for the construction, repair and modernization of campus projects.

This committee ensures that Measure G bond proceeds are expended only for the purposes approved by voters and that no bond proceeds are used for teacher or administrative salaries or any other operating expenses.

The two vacancies are bona-fide taxpayer association representative and senior citizens’ organization representative. Members serve two-year terms and are appointed by the college’s board of trustees.

All appointees must be 18 years of age or older. No members may be employees of Cerritos College, an official with the college district, or any vendor, contractor or consultant of the district.

Applications are available online and must be completed and delivered by Sept. 13.
