Norwalk partners with Ring for home security subsidies
NORWALK — The City of Norwalk has partnered with Ring on a joint subsidy program that will provide discounts for residents who wish to purchase select home security devices.
The program launches June 27 at the Norwalk Arts & Sports Complex.
Up to 200 eligible Norwalk residents can receive a $100 discount code to use towards the purchase of select Ring security devices.
At the launch event, residents will be able to register for the program on a first-come, first-served basis; purchase eligible devices and accessories on-site; and learn more about Ring security devices and ask questions.
Eligible Ring devices include the Video Doorbell 2, Video Doorbell Pro, Spotlight Cam Solar, Spotlight Cam Battery, Spotlight Cam Wired, Floodlight Cam, Stick-Up Cam Battery, Stick-Up Cam Wired, and Ring Alarm Security Kit (5-Piece).
Ring is also offering $30 off additional security devices with a maximum of two per household, and 20% off accessories. Residents will need to pay an additional subscription fee if they want to save device footage or sign-up for the alarm monitoring service.
The $20,000 program is funded by the City of Norwalk with matching funds from Ring.
The launch event is from 6-8 p.m. No RSVP is needed but residents are advised to arrive early.
Proof of Norwalk residency is required, such as a valid government ID and a copy of a utility bill.
