NORWALK – Norwalk - La Mirada Unified School District celebrated the completion of the new football field and stadium at John Glenn High School last week, marking the completion of one of the several major outdoor renovations taking place around the district.

The stadium was officially unveiled Tuesday, May 14.

The new facility features a 2,500-seat synthetic turf stadium with lights, a press box, baseball fields, softball fields, practice field, ticket booth and concession building that includes restrooms and locker rooms. The makeover for the 1960’s-era Eagles campus covers approximately 20 acres of school property.

The Glenn project – which included construction, planning, and development work budgeted at $25 million – was funded through the Measure G Bond Program, NLMUSD’s capital improvements bond passed in 2014.

“this is a modernization project that will meet a lot of our campus needs. It’s also a smart, long-term investment for our community,” said Francisco Ramirez, principal of the 1,300-student high school. “These renovations look great and no doubt there will be a lot of students and families who will take new interest in our school.”
