Sheriff's Station holding open house for prospective explorers

NORWALK — The Norwalk Sheriff’s Station is hosting an “Explorer Post” Open House on Thursday, Jan. 17, at 6:30 pm. for teens and young adults interested in becoming an explorer.

To qualify, you must be mature, have at least a “C” average in high school, be between 14-20 years of age, and be of good moral character without any serious arrest record. Training for new Deputy Explorers takes place at the Sheriff’s Explorer Academy in Whittier.

The Academy is held every Saturday for 18 weeks and full participation is mandatory.
