Former college football player charged with home invasion

NORWALK — Jalen Daniel Hall, a former receiver with the Oregon Ducks, and another man have been charged with a home invasion robbery in Norwalk.

Hall, 19, and Millard Lefenus Hill, 18, were each charged with three counts of home invasion robbery, two counts of kidnapping to commit robbery, and one count of first-degree burglary.

The charges include allegations that Hall was armed with a semi-automatic handgun.

Hall and Hill allegedly participated in the robbery on Sept. 10. Three victims inside the house were reportedly threatened and moved around the home while jewelry and other valuables were stolen.

They fled from police after the robbery but a sheriff airship tracked them down, leading to their arrest.

Bail was set at more than $2 million each and they both face a maximum sentence of life in state prison if convicted.

Hall, a 6-foot-4 Long Beach native, joined the Ducks after fielding offers from many of the top universities around the country. He left the team after only one spring practice, however, citing a personal matter.

Oregon football coach Mario Cristobal officially announced that Hall was no longer a member of the Ducks on Sept. 12.

"Well he hasn’t been on the roster for a pretty long time now,” Cristobal said. “We’re moving on and certainly it is what it is. He hasn’t been on the roster and hasn’t been part of our team roster for some time now."
