Man struck in drive-by shooting

One person was struck in a drive-by shooting at approximately 1:59 pm Sunday near Cedarvale Street and Horst Avenue, according to sheriff's officials.

The victim, a 35-year-old man, was struck in the abdomen while in his front yard, authorities said. He was initially transported to Coast Plaza Hospital and then to St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood where is listed in stable condition. He is expected to survive. 

The shooting is being treated as gang-related. 

Witnesses reported hearing 7-8 gunshots. No description of the shooter has been released.
