New carwash coming to Norwalk Costco
By Alex Dominguez
NORWALK - Plans to add a carwash to the existing gas station at the Norwalk Costco were approved last month, according to city officials.
The automatic carwash will be operated in conjunction with the existing warehouse and gas station, and will be available only to Costco members.
The proposed improvements include an approximately 3,675-square-foot carwash building, four pay stations with an approximately 1,460 square foot canopy overhead, an attendant kiosk, and 42 new parking stalls among other features.

Plans also call for an underground system to remove oils and solids from waste water before it reaches the city's storm drains, including four 2,000-gallon waste water reclaim underground storage tanks, one 2,000-gallon oil /sand separator, and one 24,000-gallon underground detention vault.
Proposed hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; consistent with the operation of the warehouse.
